How To Drink Clean Water At Home

Every day, it is important that you get enough water into your body; after all, continued hydration is a big part of continued health. But many people fail to drink even close to enough water each day, and part of the reason for this lack of water is because – quite frankly – their water tastes no good. If your water does not taste satisfactory, chances are you will be unlikely to drink the eight glasses of water (one gallon) that you should be drinking each day. Follow these tips for having clean, tasty water to drink at home, and watch your health improve as your water intake increases!

Of course, one of the best (and most transportable!) ways to get clean, tasty water all the time is to buy bottled water. But at the same time, bottled water – especially if you buy it by the bottle – can be quite expensive. With bottled water, you should plan to buy it in bulk, as this will allow you to always have water to take with you wherever you go while also getting a good deal on it.

Consider getting a water bubbler in your own home if you want the taste of bottled water without having to pay the price. You can usually buy the bottles that go with these for as little as $5 or $10, and at such stores as Walmart you can buy water for about $0.33 per gallon. Additionally, you can take this water with you everywhere – just like bottled water – if you simply buy a reusable water bottle.

Of course, another option – one that can be done any number of ways – is filtering water in your own home. You can purchase a stand-alone water filter in order to filter your water at home, or you can attach a filter to your sink, or you can just make sure the filtration system in your refrigerator is working.

It does not especially matter which of these options you choose to go with yourself, so long as you choose one to go with! Once you do, you will be able to drink delicious, clean water at home, and will therefore be able to drink as much water as your body requires!

Comparing Gatorade and Water

Those with strong opinions on either side of the argument have fueled the Gatorade Versus Water debate for the last forty years. And while everyone knows that hydration is important, it can seem silly to believe that there is actually a better method of hydration than plain old water.

Understanding the argument between Gatorade and water becomes easier once we understand a bit about the history of Gatorade itself. The long, hot practices of the Florida Gators football team first inspired the creation of Gatorade, as the head football coach asked researchers at the school if there was a way for his players to be less sluggish during long, hot practices. Shortly thereafter, in 1967, the Florida Gators defeated Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl, and the Georgia Tech coach said they lost because they did not have Gatorade.

Of course, you probably already know that Gatorade is designed to “replenish” your body, in ways that water alone supposedly cannot do. And in fact, this is the basic element in answering the question of whether Gatorade or water is better.

Gatorade truly is valuable to athletes, as it was specially, scientifically formulated to replenish all those elements lost through sweating during intense physical exertion that water alone cannot replenish. While athletes can stick to a specific diet that will replicate the effects of Gatorade when water is included in the diet, it is much easier to pop open a bottle of Gatorade!

Mix Your Own Gatorade At Home!

At the same time, however, Gatorade does include sugars and other elements that the body does not need when it is at rest. After all, if a person is sitting on a couch and watching a movie, they are not losing much from their body through sweat, and so, they are not needing to “replenish” any elements they might otherwise be losing!

Athletes should take the following approach to Gatorade: drink lots and lots of water before an event, and then, during the event, drink lots and lots of Gatorade! And for those who are not engaging in intense physical exertion, try to drink Gatorade as sparingly as you drink other sugar-filled drinks such as soda, as you have no serious need to replenish any great loss.
